Building Unit Analytics

View energy, emissions, and data coverage analytics at the building-unit level to understand how individual spaces contribute to asset performance. This article explains the building units list and the unit-level overview.

Building units analytics allows you to view energy and emissions performance at the level of individual units within an asset. This includes tenant spaces, common areas, or any other sub-asset areas set up in the platform. The feature provides both a table view of all building units and a detailed analytics page for each unit, helping users understand how specific spaces contribute to overall asset performance.

Building-unit–level insights are useful for validating metering setup, reviewing tenant-specific data, comparing spaces, and identifying areas where efficiency improvements may be needed.


Building units list

The building units list displays all units that belong to an asset in a clean, structured table.

It can be accessed in Analytics Mode by selecting an asset with building units configured.

What the table shows

Each row represents a building unit and includes key fields such as:

  • Unit name
  • Unit type (e.g., tenant unit, common area)
  • Floor area
  • Identifiers (e.g., building unit ID)
  • High-level completeness indicators (where applicable)

How to use this view

The building units list is helpful for:

  • Quickly confirming which units belong to an asset
  • Checking floor area distribution
  • Navigating directly to a specific unit for deeper insight

Clicking any row opens its corresponding building unit overview.


Building unit overview

The building unit overview mirrors the structure of the asset overview page but focuses on a single unit.

It provides analytics for:

Energy

  • Total consumption
  • Monthly or annual trends
  • Energy use intensity (EUI)

GHG emissions

  • Total emissions
  • Emissions intensity (GHGI)

Data coverage

Shows the completeness of inputs used for analytics, including:

  • Meter coverage
  • Time coverage
  • Floor area coverage tied to the unit

Purpose of unit-level analysis

These analytics allow users to:

  • Understand which spaces drive an asset’s energy use or emissions
  • Verify whether unit-level metering is set up and reporting correctly
  • Benchmark units against each other or identify anomalies
  • Review tenant-linked performance where applicable

When building unit analytics appear

Building unit analytics are displayed when:

  • The asset includes one or more configured building units
  • Meters are correctly linked to those units (to allocate consumption)

If no meters are linked to a unit, analytics will show limited or no values.


Integration with workflows

Building unit analytics support several workflows, including:

  • Data validation: confirm meter-to-unit mapping, identify missing consumption
  • Tenant reporting: demonstrate individual tenant performance
  • Operational insights: track energy efficiency at the unit level
  • Decarbonisation planning: identify high-impact units for retrofit measures
